What’s better than a day at Elk Island National Park? That’s easy, getting to take a free shuttle there and back! The TD Elk Island Express is back up and running to close out the summer, and we’ve got all the info you need to know about it.

For three weekends this September, outdoor lovers will be able to board the shuttle to Elk Island National Park, hang around for a few hours, then take it back to Edmonton. The bus will pick up passengers at two easy-to-access locations, MEC Edmonton Downtown and the Royal Alberta Museum.

Upon arrival to the park, you’ll be treated to an hour-long behind the scenes tour from Parks Canada. After that, the shuttle will take you to Astotin Lake, where you’ll have approximately four hours to do whatever you want! Go for a hike, hang by the water, have a little picnic… it’s up to you!

In order to reserve a seat on the shuttle, guests will need to provide a $15 deposit. Admission to the park ($8.50 for GA) will be deducted from the return of the deposit, unless you have a Discovery Pass, in which case things are completely free!

If you’ve been meaning to get out to Elk Island this summer, but haven’t found the time, then consider one last chance to check it out before the season changes!
