On the same day Shake Shack announced it is opening in Canada, popular Korean bakery Paris Baguette also announced it will be coming to several provinces!

According to Paris Baguette, it is opening its first cafe in Toronto at 4841 Yonge Street on March 22nd. But following that, it plans to expand its “North American footprint with at least seven slated to open across Canada, and an additional 64+ in the United States in 2023 through a strategic approach of corporate-owned and franchise locations.”

The Paris Baguette bakery café is known for its signature cakes, specialty brewed coffees by Lavazza, and of course, its breads and pastries.

While it will initially be opening in Ontario, the bakery has confirmed it is planning to have cafes in Edmonton and Calgary, as well as in Vancouver.

“The expansion of our bakery cafés into Canada marks an exciting period of growth for Paris Baguette,” said Darren Tipton, Chief Executive Officer, Paris Baguette North America. “We can’t wait to celebrate moments of joy with our guests as we establish our neighborhood bakery cafés in Toronto and bring our vision to life throughout Canada.”

As for what we can expect, in Toronto, the bakery is 2,300 sq. ft. and has seating for up to 20 guests. There is an open kitchen concept, which provides a window into the bakers and cakers at work behind the scenes.

“The café has a modern design with French architectural features that add eclectic flair,” states the brand.

Paris Baguette already has several US locations, and it is projecting 1,000 more in North America by 2030. It says it “is on a mission to reestablish the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community.”
