An iconic Japanese bakery known for cheese tarts is opening in Vancouver

We have to admit, we were a little envious when our coworkers in Calgary and Edmonton got to check out one of Japan’s favorite bakeries before we did. Luckily, we won’t have to feel that way much longer, because our very own Pablo Cheese Tart outpost is coming to Vancouver this summer.

Born in the northern Japanese city of Osaka, Pablo Cheese Tart has become a must-try spot not only at home, but in countries like Vietnam, Taiwan, and of course, right here in Canada. Their claim to fame? The Original Cheese Tart, which uses a crispy shell, a fluffy cheese-based filling, and a thin layer of apricot jam on top.

That’s not all they’ve got, though. Over the years, they’ve come up with a wide variety of options, ranging from matcha-based tarts to cookies and cream and a whole lot more. Naturally, you can also grab a nice cup of coffee or some tea to go alongside your treat.

Of course, you can’t grab it just yet… According to a press release, this new spot will be opening on Broadway sometime this summer! Don’t worry- we’ll keep you in the loop as soon as an official opening date is announced. We can’t wait either!
