‘Superman’ was filmed in this ‘haunted’ Alberta house & you can explore it this fall

Are you afraid of the dark? Face your fears at Mystic Manor in High River, Alberta.

A brand new experience opening soon, this historic destination is described as offering “paranormal exploration, scares, and fun” just south of Calgary.

According to their website, this eerie home was once that of Clark Kent’s love interest, Lana Lang in Superman III (1983), but that’s not all!

In addition to the fictional character, there are reportedly many ghosts that call the manor home, which makes for a spooky experience night or day.

What to do at Mystic Manor

A must-visit for those interested in pop-culture fun or the paranormal, Mystic will offer walking tours, a ghost-hunting experience, and in 2025, escape rooms!

“My lifelong dream and passion has always been to open a year round haunted house experience and I’ve always been on the lookout for somewhere suitable to put it,” Owner Faye Steinberg, told the High River Times and then shared to their website.

“This house is perfect and it will be a year-round elevated haunted house type experience.”

“We pride ourselves on digging up authentic ghost stories,” they write.

“Some stories are passed down orally through folklore and become legends, but we strive to determine if they are factual and based on actual life events. We have spent countless hours compiling our ghost stories to be able to tell you authentic and true stories. Our research is a compilation of historical documentation from the archives at the Glenbow, University of Calgary, Genealogy organizations, Calgary Library, Eye Witness accounts, interviews, and our very own psychic!”
