“The best:” This is where the cast of Netflix’s ‘My Life With the Walter Boys’ ate while filming in Calgary

Calgary foodies are spoiled for choice when it comes to eateries, and while we all have our favourites – something is particularly fascinating about going to a spot that you know a celebrity favours.

Since Alberta has become a hotspot for TV shows and movie magic, several local restaurants have gotten a shoutout including Model Milk and as of late, Cinnaholic and The Big Cheese Poutinerie.

Greenlit for a second season, Netflix’s new teen drama ‘My Life With the Walter Boys,’ is a smash hit and we’re delighted!

Not only was the show filmed entirely in Alberta but the cast seems to have enjoyed their in the Prairie province and that’s a badge we’ll wear with pride.

In addition to the Calgary Ranch where the show takes place, stars Nikki Rodriguez (On My Block), Noah LaLonde (Asbury Park) and Ashby Gentry (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), have shared stories about trips to Banff and have gushed about the city’s food scene.

“The amount of times we’ve talked about Cinnaholic…” Rodriguez said in a recent TUDUM interview.

In fact, LaLonde is quoted as saying that the Shark Tank-approved spot is “the best cinnamon roll place you will ever go to.”

For those unaware, Cinnaholic opened in 2021 and has since become a go-to spot – though it’s worth noting that the US had it first.

What they don’t have (yet) however, is a Big Cheese Poutinerie – another favourite amongst the cast and a YYC original.

“It’s the best meal ever. [The] French fries, are you kidding me?” Gentry told Netflix.

We’re glad to see that we’ve made an impression – but we hope it’ll be enough for them to come back in season 2 of ‘My Life With the Walter Boys.’
