This Toronto park is showing FREE Marvel & Disney movies under the stars

Summer nights, outdoor movies, and a picnic — name a better combo, we’ll wait! Movies Under the Stars at Downsview Park is back this season and you can catch screenings of popular new releases for free!

The annual movie program is back for its 6th edition this summer and will take place at the lakeside this year, in between the Orchard Pavilion and the Lake inside the park.

The show starts at approximately 9 p.m., but you’ll want to arrive early to get a good spot and a head-start on your picnic.

Registration is open for the next outdoor movie on the schedule, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which is playing this Thursday, July 28.

To secure your spot, all you have to do is get a free ticket online for every person in your group. You’ll have to check in at the on-site tent when you arrive.

If you can’t make it to Thursday’s show, you can catch a free screening of Disney’s Encanto on August 9, and registration opens at 8 a.m. on August 2.

The final show of the season is the hugely-popular film Spider-Man: No Way Home, playing on the night of August 22.

Downsview Park is not the only spot to catch free movies under the stars in Toronto this summer.

Christie Pits Park, Corktown Common, and Bell Manor Park will have outdoor film screenings all throughout July and August as part of the annual Toronto Outdoor Picture Show. You can see the full schedule for all three parks here.

Grab your popcorn, a blanket, and your best pals for movie nights in the great outdoors!
