BC’s second oldest park is home to the Canadian Rockies’ highest peak

There’s nothing more bucket list-worthy than seeing the Canadian Rockies, and BC happens to be home to its highest peak, at 3,954 metres above sea level. So if you’re ready to see it for yourself, it’s time to add the world-famous Mount Robson Park to your road trip map this summer.

Known for its spectacular waterfalls, wildflower meadows, and old-growth forests, the provincial park is considered as one of BC’s most popular destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, according to BC Parks.

Home to the famed Berg Lake Trail, the park offers visitors some of the ‘finest scenery in BC,’ where both experienced and beginner hikers can embark on multi-day wilderness adventures. The turquoise waters make for the most memorable photo and an even more special summer dip!

There’s also the rushing Toboggan Creek, which passes through the limestone canyon it carved over thousands of years ago.

Though the upper Berg Lake Trail and campgrounds are still undergoing some repairs, the Berg Lake Trail Whitehorn Campground is now open for first-come-first-serve camping, with reservations required starting Tuesday, July 2nd.

During your visit, you’ll likely spot mules and whitetail deers as they roam through the forest, as well as mountain goats, and even grizzly bears – though optimally from a safe distance, of course.

So there you have it, BC! Your next mountain adventure awaits. Be sure to stay up to date on trail conditions and safety info prior to your visit.
