We Canadians are loyal to our local brands, and it shows. The most valuable Canadian brands of 2022 have been revealed and apparently, their value has soared since the pandemic.
Data, insights, and consulting company Kantar has released its annual ranking of Canadian companies raking in the biggest bucks.
According to Kantar, the total value of these companies has risen by 49% as shoppers go back to spending after saving up throughout the pandemic.
The sectors with the biggest gains are Banks (+68%), Insurance (+60%), and Telecom Providers (+41%).

However, the most valuable brands this year include many other recognizable names like Lululemon, Artitzia, Canada Dry, and Dollarama.
Despite their success, Canadian consumers ranked over 50% of these brands as either high-priced, overpriced, or at risk of being overpriced.
Kantar says that if these brands hope to hang onto their success amid a recession, they need to give people better value for their dollar with new offers or get better at communicating their value.
