Canada’s first full-service Milk Bar location opens in Vancouver this week

If you’ve got a strong sweet tooth, you’ve likely already heard about the picture-worthy, nostalgic treats at Milk Bar. Home of the iconic Compost Cookie, Cereal Milk Soft Serve, and unique “naked” layered cakes. The playful concept was created in New York by award-winning (and Netflix-starring) pastry chef Christina Tosi – and Canadians can finally get a taste without crossing the border.

The first-ever Milk Bar opened back in 2008 in New York’s East Village, with a unique “choose-your-own-adventure” space created for visitors to “taste, build, and play.” The brand has since expanded with locations in Boston, Washington DC, LA, Las Vegas, Toronto, and now (finally!), Vancouver.

According to a release, the full-service Milk Bar at Nordstorm Pacific Centre is the first in Canada – and it’s open for business starting Friday, November 18th.

“There’s such a strong food culture in Vancouver and we’ve heard a great deal of excitement from the community about Milk Bar’s arrival to the city,” said Meaghan Dever, Store Manager at Nordstrom Pacific Centre. “We’re thrilled to bring this beloved brand to our customers – just in time for the holidays.

Looking for some iconic treats to have on your radar come opening day? Check out the iconic Milk Bar Pie, an array of birthday cake-flavoured treats, and if you’re feeling daring – the PB&J Soft Serve Shake.

Milk Bar at Nordstrom will be open from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm, and from 10 am to 7 pm on Sundays.

We’ll see you in line on opening day, Vancouver!
