It’s no secret that BC is home to some of the best resorts in Canada, particularly ski resorts. In fact, two were just named the best in the country and in the U.S. Let’s dive right in.

The 35th annual Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are out, and while Colorado did dominate the list of top spots, voters also recognized the beautiful landscape of BC and handpicked these resorts as some of their favourite ski destinations.

Whether you’re a “moguls expert, a terrain park shredder, or a novice still mastering blue runs,” these resorts “ticked all the boxes.”

Big White, BC

The first BC ski resort to be recognized was Sundance Resort in Big White, which came in #4 out of 20. With a prime location just above the Bullet Express near the Village Centre, Sundance boasts great ski-in and ski-out access on a world-class mountain.

Guests can choose from an array of accommodation types, and enjoy access to private hot tubs, an outdoor heated pool, and even a movie theatre.

Whistler Blackcomb, BC

This second destination actually made it to #1 on the entire list, which we think is definitely warranted, since Whistler has become the largest ski resort destination in North America. Condé Nast describes the area as having “unmatched big mountain skiing and snowboarding,” fit for skiers of any level.

In terms of resorts, Condé Nast recommends the 519-room Chateau Whistler, the Westin Resort & Spa, and Nita Lake Lodge.
