Time to bring your brunch game to the next level! The Michelin Guide awards restaurants with one star, two stars, three stars, Bib Gourmand or a Michelin Green Star. In Toronto, there are a number of restaurants that have received a Michelin honour that serve brunch and we would be doing you a disservice if we didn’t share them.
Restaurants may receive one to three Michelin Stars for the quality of their food based on five criteria: quality of the ingredients used, mastery of flavour and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef in the cuisine, harmony of flavours, and consistency between visits.
Bib Gourmand recognizes friendly establishments that serve good food at moderate prices, while a Green Star is awarded to restaurants that uphold outstanding sustainable and eco-friendly culinary practices.

This east-end gem deserves all the praise you have to try their brunch.
White Lily Diner has a Bib Gourmand and Green Star award from the Michelin Guide and serves up classic brunch dishes such as eggs, griddle cakes, breakfast sandwiches and biscuits.
If you’re planning on checking it out be prepared to wait in line but trust us, it’s worth it!

The Michelin Guide describes this restaurant best: “A Filipino diner bursting with colour and coolness,” awarding it a Bib Gourmand.
This Parkdale spot is known for serving incredible brunch twists like Japanese milkbread French Toast and Adobo fried chicken paired with pineapple habanero hot sauce.
A must-try!!
Where: 5 Brock Ave
The Ace is a restored diner that first opened in the 1950s.
The brunch here earned a Bib Gourmand and when it comes to what to order, The Michelin Guide recommends you try the duck confit and wild mushroom toast crowned with poached eggs and “the city’s best French toast.”
Where: 231A Roncesvalles Ave
While these restaurants weren’t awarded a star or Bib Gourmand they are still included as selected spots. According to Michelin, “A restaurant in the Recommended selection is the sign of a chef using quality ingredients that are well cooked; simply a good meal and means that the inspectors have found the food to be above average, but not quite at star or Bib level.”
If you’ve never tried Egyptian food then this is a pretty great excuse to do so.
Maha’s is located in Toronto’s east end and is only open for breakfast and lunch/brunch.
“The Cairo classic is a go-to. This tender fava bean stew is plated with a fluffy orb of falafel and slices of hard boiled egg, then sided by an impossibly soft balady,” shares The Michelin Guide.

The Ace Hotel’s ground-level restaurant has amazing brunch.
If the coconut cream pie is available, The Michelin Guide says to get it!
The menu Mediterranean menu has plenty of options including the very popular beef carpaccio.

Nestled along one of Toronto’s most popular streets, Ossington Ave, Union’s brunch is superb.
The breakfast sandwich and buckwheat pancakes are popular but you can’t go wrong with anything you order here.

Enjoy classic Lebanese and Middle Eastern brunch dishes such as shakshouka, Lebanese omelettes, eggs makanek and foul.
The interior is sleek and stunning to boot.
“Baklava, that classic dessert, is always a good idea,” says the Michelin Guide.

This King West spot is known for serving up amazing dinner and cocktails but don’t pass it by for brunch!
