Marvel just released all-new info on upcoming projects starring Canadian talent (VIDEO)

Marvel fans, we’ve got some stuff to talk about. Marvel Studios hit us in all the feels yesterday with a video release celebrating their cinematic universe and world in film. Aside from getting us all jazzed up to head to theatres again (hopefully sooner than later) they also gave a few new details on exciting upcoming projects they’ve got in store. Guess what? Two of those projects feature major Canadian talent.

Yes, we’re talking about Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings and The Marvels. First, let’s talk Shang-Chi. This flick stars Kim’s Convenience alumni Simu Liu as the titular character. Its release date is around the corner, heading to theatres on September 3rd, 2021. The recent video from Marvel Studios showed us some quick clips from the film as a fun little preview.

Then there is The Marvels. You may not have heard this title before. That’s because the name and release date were both surprise announcements within the ‘celebration of movies’ video that Marvel just dropped. The film will be the sequel to Captain Marvel and will star Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris (WandaVision) as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.

Iman Vellani is the teen from Markham, Ontario who made headlines last fall when she was cast in the upcoming series Ms. Marvel on Disney+. We’re so excited to see this local talent kill it on the big AND small screen! As announced by Marvel studios, The Marvels will be headed to theatres on November 11th, 2022.

We can’t wait to see these two awesome Canadians in action! So mark your calendars, people. Because the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get even better.
