If you’re looking for an Indigenous-founded brand to support as well as new boots to sport this winter, we have good news for you. Manitobah is launching its latest women’s collection at Nordstorm next week, and they have waterproof and water-resistant winter boots that are perfect for the season!

The company

Métis entrepreneur Sean McCormick started Manitobah Mukluks to uplift his own community, as well as “create a positive impact in Indigenous communities across North America.” Now, the brand has exploded into a vibrant global footwear brand known for its collections of lifestyle footwear for both men and women, according to a release.

Their headlining product this season? Their soft winter boots – AKA, Mukluks.

The collection

According to the brand’s website, Mukluks are traditionally made of sealskin, moose hide, or caribou, and rise to the ankle or mid-calf. Manitobah’s take on the traditional Mukluk will feature both water-resistant designs as well as boots that are completely waterproof, according to the release.

As for the Reflections boot – the water-resistant suede and shearling lining are pretty hard to beat. Designed by Apsaalooké artist Elias Not Afraid, the sole and banding details symbolize “the duality of reflecting on the past while celebrating the future.”

The Reflections boot will be available exclusively at Nordstrom in Charcoal and Oak.
