Who’s up for a seaside adventure? The picturesque village of Lund on the Sunshine Coast is a great place to set your sights on this season, especially if you’re an avid boater. The gateway to two stunning marine parks with dozens of islands, islets, and inlets to visit, you’ll have no shortage of opportunities for exploration here.
Known for its calm waters and breathtaking views, Lund is considered the “End of the Road” for its location at Mile 0 of Highway 101 – AKA one of the longest highway networks in the world.
The scenic village is the gateway to three marine parks, the popular Okeover Inlet, the Sunshine Coast Trail, and Savary Island – otherwise known as the most beautiful island in the Salish Sea, according to Sunshine Coast Tourism.
Home to some of the warmest waters north of Mexico, Savary Island has an abundance of gleaming white-sand beaches to explore, all surrounded by ancient cliffs and sand dunes.
Daytrippers can bike between the island’s many public beaches or explore one of the many forested trails the island has to offer.
Scenic stops to add to your list include South Beach, Duck Bay, Mermaid Beach, and the Malaspina Promenade.
Situated on the traditional, unceded territory of the Tla’amin, Klahoose, and Homalco First Nations, Lund offers visitors the chance to stay at Indigenous-owned and operated accommodations such as the Klah Ah Men and Klahoose Wilderness Resort (located in Homfray Channel).
As well, moorage is available at 13 Moons Marina and Lund Public Marina, with marine-access campsites available at Desolation Sound, Copeland Islands, and Malaspina Marine Parks.
Year-round, vehicle-accessible camping is available at the nearby Okeover Arm Park.

How to get there: Take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Langdale and drive three hours and 17 minutes via the Sunshine Coast Highway/BC-101 N and BC-10 to Lund.
