It’s the Year of the Dragon and to kick off the fun early Hey Fun Market is holding a Lunar New Year Market showcasing the rich diversity of Asian-owned businesses!

Hey Fun Lunar New Year Market takes place in North York and will feature over 20 vendors with Lunar New Year inspired art booths, candles, jewellery, snacks and more!

When: Saturday, January 27th, 2024

Cost: $18.88 per ticket (Session 1 & 2) or $28.88 per ticket (VIP Hour)

Lunar New Year at Holts Café

Delight your senses with the return of Holts Cafe’s iconic Lunar New Year-inspired afternoon tea. Enjoy a tasty spread of bites inspired by classic Chinese and Lunar New Year dishes, accompanied by unique afternoon tea flavours.

Chef Malcolm Webster’s menu will showcase an array of savoury items, sweet treats and fresh baked goods. Experience a delightful evening at its Bloor St location every Thursday to Sunday from January 27 to March 3.

The Welcome Market and Auntie’s Supply have teamed up to bring the exciting pop-up once again following the success of its past events.

The exciting night market kicks off on February 2nd and will stick around through the weekend until the 4th.

Expect over 35 vendors, exclusive themed goodies, and the return of Queens of Dim Sum drag show during the Friday night portion of their market.

Lunar New Year at Scarborough Town Centre

In celebration of Lunar New Year, Scarborough Town Centre is transforming its Centre court with all things Lunar New Year.

There will be a number of celebratory performances from the past to the present, including a variety of dances, and a traditional dragon parade.

Snap a pic with the majestic life-size dragon standing 15 feet high, and 22 feet long at the Centre Court, for the entire month of February.

And while you’re there, check out the STC’s first-ever Lunar New Year MRKT and shop specialty products like jewellery, cards, home goods, food, and more from Asian makers.

2024 Lunar New Year Celebrations: The Year of the Dragon

It’s almost time to celebrate the Year of the Dragon! Chinatown is hosting a Lunar New Year celebration in Toronto and you won’t want to miss it.

This year’s celebrations will be held on February 10th and 11th. There will be all kinds of things to see and do, including performances, activities, booths, and tasty food.

Celebrations will take place in both Chinatown Centre and Dragon City Mall.

Lunar New Year at Fairview Mall, Markville Mall & Toronto Eaton Centre

Celebrations will kick off on February 10th at CF Markville, ion the 11th at CF Fairview Mall and the 17th at the Toronto Eaton Centre. These two malls will each feature special entertainment such as dragon dances, lion dances and traditional music.

Talk show hosts Winnie, Anthony and Tyrone from A1 Chinese Radio will host and perform at CF Markville and CF Fairview Mall as well.

Other activities include traditional eye dotting, green grabbing, dragon and lion parades, a visit from the God of Fortune, a new Chinese dance, new audience mini-games, all new martial arts performance and VIP guest appearances.

This exciting event is a benefit gala for the Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation, which will combine philanthropy with the celebration of Chinese New Year.

This annual event is known as one of Toronto’s most anticipated events and the largest Chinese New Year celebration of its kind in North America for the last three decades, according to its website.

Chef Nuit Regular x Chef Eva Chin Lunar New Year Dinner

Kiin Toronto’s Chef Nuit Regular will team up with The Soy Luck Club’s Chef Eva Chin to create a divine dining experience that combines Thai and Chinese cuisines. This six-course dinner includes a welcome cocktail and canapes, all priced at $168 per person.

Tickets can be purchased at kiintoronto.com. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner will be donated to support a Chinese village in Pai, Thailand, according to organizers.
