This is why we love IKEA! The Swedish-owned company has announced it will reduce the prices of over 1,000 classic IKEA products in Canada.

The beloved brand has made the multi-million dollar investment in an effort make products “more attainable” for Canadians.

“We know that in Canada, the cost of living and affordability is more important than ever as many Canadians face rising living costs and increased inflation. Many are facing an affordability crisis and are struggling with fundamental costs such as housing, fuel, health, and food,” said Selwyn Crittendon, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer at IKEA Canada.

IKEA’s recent Life at Home Report saw that 45% of Canadians placed household finances and disposable income as a top concern. The other 37% are concerned about the state of the economy in Canada.

“Securing the lowest price has been a pillar of the IKEA brand’s Democratic Design philosophy for the past eight decades,” shares the brand.

That being said, classic IKEA Democratic Design icons like the STRANDMON chair, the BILLY bookcase, and some items from lighting, cookware, bed textiles, and more, will see prices lowered.

For example, here are some items that have seen price adjustments:

  • BILLY Bookcase with glass doors: Now $199, Previously $249.00.
  • STRANDMON Armchair: Now $349, Previously $399
  • VITTSJÖ Laptop stand: Now $29.99, Previously: $59.99
  • RANARP Work lamp: Now $39.99, Previously $49.99

IKEA Canada has made the shopping experience easier for those looking for these lower-priced items. You can shop for IKEA’s Lower Prices here.
