Looking for somewhere magical to go for a stroll this fall? Bundle up and stretch your legs, because in Elk Island National Park, you’ll find an Alberta boardwalk well worth the visit.

Located on Astotin Lake, the Living Waters Boardwalk is a 150-metre loop that only takes about 30 minutes to complete, but offers some incredible views and is a great way to get some fresh air.

Here you’ll be surrounded by trees, a marsh and little islands that are extra scenic as the sun sets and rises.

What’s more, is that while on the floating boardwalk, you might see some animals along the way!

From beavers and waterfowl to fish and frogs, those with an eagle eye could get a sneaky peek at creatures of every size.

Afterward, check out the rest of the national park and consider staying later in the evening to look up at the stars!

Interested in checking it out? Pack light, don’t forget a snack and come ready to move!

It’s a short one, but there’s truly no place quite like it.

Happy walking!
