Washington is full of unique museums and even has a medieval village. Did you know our state is also home to a museum that solely focuses on nutcrackers? The Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum is a truly unique destination with an amazing collection that is perfect for visiting this holiday season.

The museum is home to over 9,000 nutcrackers from over 50 different countries. You’ll find models from nearly every era, nutting stones of the Archaic period to modern-day acrylics, hand-forged or molded metals, carved wood, mass-produced, and even bone, horn, and porcelain.

When you arrive you can enjoy a 17-minute video about the history of the museum, the nutcrackers, and also learn how a German nutcracker is made.

You are then welcome to explore the museum and take photos of the beautiful displays, do make sure to note the cases that say “no photos.”

The museum is open daily, year round and tickets can be purchased on site.
