This first-ever lavender festival is happening in Ontario next month

Lavender is in full bloom here in our province and you can celebrate it in all of its glory at this first-ever lavender festival in Ontario.

Hereward Farms, located an hour and a half outside of Toronto, is hosting its first-annual festival among its lavender fields, complete with food vendors, local artisans, live music, and vintage cars on display.

In addition to shopping and snacking, you can get some professional snaps taken by the on-site photographer.

For an extra cost, you can pick your own lavender plants to take home. But, you can also shop for a variety of lavender skincare and homecare products at the boutique.

You’ll want to check out the farm’s lavender lounge and enter the 50/50 grand prize draw.

Plus, you can sign up for a Nibbles and Sips picnic in the lavender field for an additional $75 for two people.

As part of the picnic, you’ll be given a traditional charcuterie box and wine to enjoy in the fields. It’s described as a “perfect spot for a romantic day or a day with the family.”

There will also be a food truck, ice cream, and a cocktail truck on-site at the festival.

There is no cost to attend the lavender fest but Hereward Farms is raising funds for the Alzheimers Society of Dufferin County and asks visitors to make a monetary donation.

Nothing says summer like a blooming field of lavender, and this one-day event is a great way to savour the sights.
