Back in business: Kitsilano Pool is reopening this weekend & here’s what to know

Finally – the news we’ve been waiting for all summer long. Vancouver’s beloved Kitsilano Pool is officially reopening this weekend, and it couldn’t have come at a better time!

Don’t get us wrong, we love a good swim in the ocean, but there’s been a significant void in the Vancouver public pool arena for quite some time now. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome back one of the city’s most iconic summertime destinations.

Thanks to the consistent sun we’ve been getting, the pool has been successfully repaired by Park staff.

According to the city, there will be a limited number of swimmers allowed in the pool this opening weekend.

“As of August 2, the number of spaces for swimmers will be based on staff availability and adjusted accordingly. There will continue to be space for drop-ins, however, these spaces are not guaranteed. Reservations are live online three days prior at noon,” states the city in a release.

“Kits Pool will only be open for public swims throughout the long weekend. Length swimmers are asked to book at Second Beach Pool in the meantime.”
