This popular Calgary brewpub turned its multi-award-winning gin into our fave canned cocktail

The temperature outside might be navigating the negatives but that doesn’t mean we can’t still feel like sunshine inside. That is exactly the feeling you’ll have as you sip on Last Best Brewing and Distilling ‘s Gin-arita And you can now enjoy this summery vibe-inducing delight all winter long because they canned it.

In case you haven’t tried it yet or guessed it from the name, Gin-arita is the brewpub’s take on the classic marg. Only their version is a gin riff on the tequila-based cocktail. Crafted with Last Best’s award-winning (more on this later) Afterglow gin, the cocktail packs quite the punch with real lime tartness, Thai basil and lemon verbena notes, and a hint of salt.

The cocktail has been a fan favourite ever since it first featured on the pub’s menu in 2020. This was the same time they released their now-popular gin series. And much to our delight the brewery-distillery graciously decided to can the cocktail.

So, you can enjoy this delicious beauty anytime, anywhere. Whether it is at a holiday party, while on a romantic winter getaway or on a  lazy Sunday chilling with the gang.

The fresh and zesty Gin-arita joins Last Best’s three other premium gin canned cocktails— the sparkling and lemony Savage Love Tom Collins, the not-too-sweet Fortunella Citrus Iced Tea and the light and herbaceous Afterglow Gin & Soda.

Circling back to their award-winning Afterglow, the gin has had quite the winning streak this year. The spirit bagged the Best Canadian Contemporary Gin medal from the World Gin Awards and a Double Gold at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
