If you love uncovering historic spots across British Columbia, we’ve got a fascinating trestle bridge to toss your way for your next trip to the Island. The Kinsol Trestle is a historic landmark of the Cowichan Valley Trail as the largest of eight trestles along the route. And – it just so happens to be one of the tallest free-standing timber rail trestles in the world, according to the CVRD.
Spanning 187 metres across the scenic Koksilah River and 44 metres tall, the trestle is truly a remarkable structure, accessible to cyclists, hikers, and equestrians alike.
