This next outdoor festival takes ‘la dolce vita’ very seriously, and for good reason. Italian Day on the Drive is Vancouver’s largest cultural street festival, transforming all 14 blocks of Commercial Drive into a lively celebration of all things Italian.
Visitors can lounge on summer patios with fresh gelato and cannolis, sample a wide variety of pizza and pasta, and even try their hand at making a couple of dishes themselves during live cooking demos and competitions.
This year’s theme is “storia” – meaning history or story in Italian. The festival’s focus will be to connect visitors through stories that transcend generations, keeping valuable traditions and values alive, and bridging together the past and present.
To do this, Italian Day will transform the Drive into a vibrant piazza filled with delicious food, al fresco patios, and cultural attractions and live music scattered throughout, including at Grandview Park.
