Furniture shopping just got a lot more fun. IKEA Canada is putting on a nationwide festival for the first time ever this month, with in-store activities that will unleash your crafty side. The events are limited capacity and they’ll kick off in mid-September at locations all over the country.
Guests of the festival will get to check out creative spaces for learning art techniques, attend workshops about how to design and organize like a pro, and also learn tips and tricks about how to get the most use out of your IKEA items.
The events will vary from store to store and will run from Thursday, September 16th to Sunday, September 19th. And you’ll also get a pretty sweet discount over those 3 days — $20 off when you spend $100 or more. You’ll also be able to get the deal from home by attending the festival virtually, as long as you set up your free IKEA Family account.

The virtual festival will be taking place worldwide on the 16th, and there will be a ton of short films, shows, live DJ shows and cooking demonstrations you can check out.
This isn’t the only new experience that IKEA is launching in Canada. Pretty soon, the first smaller-format downtown store in the country will open up in Toronto, which will have over 2,000 products for sale, a unique restaurant concept, and design ideas for urban living spaces. The store is set to open late this year or early next year and will be one of several others worldwide in cities like Paris, Shanghai, and Queens, New York.
