What’s the story behind Mountain Goat Books?
According to Mountain Goat Books, the store was founded by Calgary couple David Katz and Myka Estes, who had talked about opening an independent bookstore together for years.
The idea became a reality after a visit to Four Point Books in Invermere, where a conversation with the owners made them think about starting their own.
The bookstore is inspired by the Rockies and the cozy rooms found in mountain lodges, and it was created so that locals can connect with other book lovers and discover new reads.
What can I find at the store?
Mountain Goat Books has books for all ages and reading tastes, so there’s something for everyone to browse. In addition to its book selection, the shop also carries journals, cards, and gifts.
And with the holidays coming up, this could be a great spot to find a gift for the book lover in your life!
