A new Beer & Tacos Festival is coming to the GTA & here’s what to know

If you like tacos, and beer, listen up. A Beer and Tacos Festival is touring in Ontario, and it will be stopping in the Greater Toronto Area on April 1st. And that’s no joke!

The first annual I❤︎BEER Festival will kick off its Tacos tour on February 25th in Hamilton, with stops in Ottawa, Kitchener, Niagara, and London before coming to Markham. Taking place at the Markham Fairgrounds, organizers say you can expect a “fun night of beer, cider and spirits sampling, games, dancing, people watching and TACOS!!!!!”

There will be two entry times on April 1st, with the first being at 2 pm and second at 6 pm. All general admission passes include admission to the Festival and an official 12 ounce I❤︎BEER sampling cup.

As for what to expect, there will be a lot of beers by local Ontario breweries, 16 to be exact. Among the breweries will be some local names like Black Lab Brewing, and Left Field Brewery. And if beer isn’t your thing, organizers say there will be at least two craft distilleries at each of their events.

“Most beer samples will be 5 and the majority of beers will be one token ($2.50). Your sample glass is 12 ounces, so if there’s a beer you really like, you can get a double sample,” states the event page.

Besides drinks, there will be 10 local restaurants, caterers, and bakeries at the Markham event. This will include Real Empanada Corp, Rebozos Taqueria, Shots Spot, Pig and Chick Korean, and Birria catrina.

Get ready for some tacos!
