Canada has one of the ‘hottest’ new hotels in the world & here’s where

The reviews are in! Tripadvisor has released its Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards and that includes a list of the hottest new hotels in the world in 2023.

The 21st edition of the awards has named the top places to stay around the globe based on various categories.

The categories include best overall, B&Bs and inns, small hotels, luxury stays, hotels with spas, family-friendly accommodations, all-inclusive, out-of-the-ordinary, best for sleep, and of course, hottest new hotels.

In this category, one Canadian destination stands out among the rest.

That hotel is none other than Sonder Maisonneuve in Montreal, which landed in 24th place out of 25 hotels worldwide.

“Coffee and croissants on your private balcony, the buzzing city stretched below. Bienvenue à Maisonneuve, where each space is tailored to your comfort,” says the hotel’s description on Tripadvisor.

This downtown hotel is surrounded by art and music venues and also boasts amenities like a sauna, steam room, pool, and hot tub.

Although it’s worth noting that the pool and hot tub are open seasonally and the sauna and steam room are currently unavailable.

According to the reviews, the features that travellers love most about this hotel include family-friendly activities, babysitting services, and concierge services.

And the stats don’t lie. Tripadvisor’s annual awards are based on 12 months of review data from real travelers at over 1.5 million hotels.

The data was gathered between January 1st and December 21st, 2022 “to determine travelers’ highest-rated accommodations of the year,” according to Tripadvisor.

If you’re looking for some more inspo for your next staycation, there’s also a Travelers’ Choice ranking of the top hotels in Canada for 2023.

In first place is Toronto’s Hazelton Hotel, followed by Vancouver’s Loden Hotel, The Magnolia Hotel and Spa on Vancouver Island, Stonehaven Le Manoir in Quebec, and EXChange Hotel Vancouver

There’s clearly no shortage of excellent places to stay here in Canada — just take your pick and set your dates!
