It’s the start of a new month, summer is basically here and we’ll bet that you’re looking to get out of the house. A great way to do that is by treating yourself to some delicious food and drinks. Luckily for us, our town has a lot of options. In fact, we’ve got some fresh options you might not have tried out yet! Here are 6 new restaurants to check out this June in Seattle.
If you’re plant-based and like donuts, there’s a brand new spot that you need to check out. Dough Joy is a queer-owned donut truck that serves up yeast-raised plant-based donuts. They sell out pretty quickly so you may have to try a few times before you can get your hands on these delicious donuts.

If you’re a fan of fried chicken then Taku should be your next dining destination. This new restaurant serves up delicious Japanese fried chicken. You can also grab dishes like rice bowls, and a karaage burger. We love that this spot has a small menu so that your choosing process is smooth.

Hours: Wednesday-Sunday 3 pm-10 pm
This one is a bit out of the way but still absolutely worth visiting. Dat Creole Soul serves up comfort food influenced by New Orleans flavors. You can find items like gumbo, gator on a stick, fried catfish, beignets, and more. Oh, and they also have a wide selection of drinks.

Another win for plant-based eaters in the city. Finch and Pine is the newest plant-based spot to grace Capitol Hill focusing on natural and locally sourced ingredients from the PNW. You can dine on menu items like mushroom pate, seasonal gazpacho, confit tuna, and more.

We’ll cap with this long-awaited permanent location from the beloved vegan hot dog purveyor, Cycle Dogs. The new Ballard location has a menu full of your old favorites and also some new menu items to spice things up a bit. So if you’re in the mood for plant-based comfort food, head here.
