It’s going to be an eventful summer on the waterfront, and spicing things up even more is the Hot and Spicy Festival at the Harbourfront Centre.

The festival is a celebration of all things India and will bring together the best of Indian arts, food, music, and culture.

Music lovers are in for a treat as various performers take the stage to showcase their contemporary, traditional, and fusion sounds.

Among the performers are JoSH The Band, a Canadian Indo-Pakistani Bhangra music group, the enchanting sitar musician Mausiqui, and Autorickshaw, a unique fusion of jazz, folk, pop, and Indian classical music.

But the highlight of the festival is the legendary Padmashri Kailash Kher and his band Kailasa, who will set the stage on fire with their Bollywood folk music.

Known for his powerful vocals and soul-stirring performances, Kher is sure to put on a memorable show.

For a good laugh, catch the hilarious comedy act of ABYYZ, also known as Abish Mathew.

The Hot and Spicy Festival will also showcase the diverse culinary culture of India. From aromatic curries to sizzling street food, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

The festival will also feature various exhibitions, like “Matters of India,” an exhibition that delves into contemporary design and “Drawing Say Dhaga,” a textile arts collaboration between Canada and Pakistan.

This is a celebration of India’s rich heritage and 75 years of independence, so you already know it’s going to be exciting.
