According to Parks Canada, “Pukaskwa’s stoic granite and boreal forests harbour a secret—Horseshoe Beach, an idyllic summer getaway on the shores of Lake Superior.”

Getting to the beach is half the fun! Visitors can get to Horseshoe via an accessible boardwalk from Hattie Cove Campground, through “wind-bent pine and past rolling dunes”, leading to the secluded sandy shore.

The waters are described as emerald in colour, with Parks Canada adding that the sunsets from this beach are something you won’t want to miss out on.

The water is also safe to swim in making it ideal for a family day trip!

You’ll want to plan your trip ahead of time depending on how long you want to stay. Day admission costs $6.50 per adult and is free for children.

Camping starts at $28.50 but you’ll need to check for availability before heading over for an overnight visit.

The views at Horseshoe Beach are worth the trip so pack your car and get ready for an unforgettable day!
