Are you looking for a stunning winter getaway with some heritage flair? If so, we may have just found the perfect historic Airbnb near Kettle Falls, Washington. It’s a one-room schoolhouse built in the early 1900s surrounded by some of Washington’s most beautiful wilderness.
This schoolhouse turned Airbnb served as the school for the local community from the early 1900s until the mid-1960s. As you might guess, parts of the building have been updated, like the kitchen and but you’ll still find plenty of original elements like chalkboards, lights, and rustic wood flooring.

The home can fit 4 guests but has an open floor plan so, in the end, it might be better for a duo. Keep in mind that due to the home’s remote location, it also might not be the best place for WFH because of potentially spotty wifi. But it is a great place to get back in touch with nature due to its proximity to the Columbia River and Red Mountain Ski Resort.
Best of all, it has quite open availability so you can plan ahead or treat yourself to a spontaneous trip. For $254 a night, a stay at this historic schoolhouse Airbnb seems well worth it.
