Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not whip up a batch of cherry cheesecake? Well, we’re about to show you a recipe you’ve got to try. Why? Because it’s Premier Ford’s recipe, of course! And what’s more fun than cooking like a member of the government? Yup, the head of Ontario has taken to Twitter to share how he makes his “famous” cheery cheesecake. And if you wanna make a batch at home, here’s how to do it.

So before you start, preheat that oven to 350 degrees. Then let’s gather up the ingredients.

cheesecakeSo you’ll wanna start by adding the dream whip and milk to a small bowlThen whip all that up until soft peaks form.

Next, you’ll put your cream cheese in the microwave for one minute to soften.

And while that softens, take all your crust ingredients and heat ’em up in a pot.

Okay, now back to the filling. You’ll take your softened cream cheese and beat in the icing sugar and whipped cream until it’s smooth. Then toss that in the fridge for a little while to cool.

Your pie crust should be good and combined now, so you’ll wanna press it into the bottom of a 9-inch baking tray. Then bake it for 20 minutes. Then let it cool for 15.

Once the crust is cooled, take your cream cheese filling out of the fridge and spread it evenly over the crust. Then put the whole thing back in the fridge for about an hour to set.

Finally, add your cherry pie filling as your topping and chill it all again before serving.

And voila! You’ve just made your very own batch of Premier Ford cherry cheesecake. Let us know how it tastes! Or just mail us a slice or two, whatever works.
