After weeks of third-party approaches and workarounds, you can now officially add your provincial and national (if available) vaccine passport to your Apple Wallet. The new feature came with the recent 15.1 update for iOS, and we’re here to break it down for you!
The new feature works practically seamlessly. All you have to do is download the iOS update, then access your QR code vaccine passport on a separate device. Open up the back camera on the device you’d like to add the passport to, and voila, you’ll get a link to add it to your Apple Wallet. Yes, it’s that simple, we checked.

For those looking for a little more integration, you can also add your verified immunization record to your Health app as well. To do that, just opt for the Health App instead of your wallet when scanning your QR code. Alternatively, click a verified downloadable link to add to your iPhone/iPad, and import the information from there.
It’s been a long time coming, but we’re sure happy that the vaccine passport for the Apple Wallet has arrived! No more fumbling through our photos or pulling out a well-worn piece of paper the next time we’re heading out for dinner.
