Summer 2022 is finally here and in the coming months, we’re expecting some serious heat! While it won’t be unbearable like last year, you’re still going to need somewhere to cool off when temperatures soar, so here are 6 waterparks in Alberta where you can go for a swim this season.

DISCOVERY CANYON

Featuring tube slides, a beach and a golf course (unrelated, but still fun), Discovery Canyon is the perfect place to escape the sun. Located in Red Deer, this totally FREE destination is definitely worth checking out – unless you’re not a fan of crowds. This one gets pretty busy, friends!

WHITECOURT RIVERSLIDES

Though Whitecourt is a tad smaller than the others on the list, it still offers an entire day of fun. With a beach, splash park and river tube slides, guests can cool down, chill out and get their adrenaline going with friends, family or their kids.

Alberta’s wildest waterpark, West Ed’s iconic spot has 17 slides, a wave pool, rope swing, zipline and more. No, this one is not outside, but it is by far the biggest and best in the province and totally worth visiting if you’re looking to beat the heat this summer.

SYLVAN LAKE AQUA SPLASH

Located in Sylvan Lake – this Aqua Splash isn’t your run-of-the-mill waterpark. It’s better described as an obstacle course but don’t let that deter you! This giant inflatable attraction is a ton of fun – so make sure you check it out this summer.

SUMMER OUTDOOR WATERPARK

With two slides, a spray park, hot tub, climbing wall, diving board and a community-sized pool, Vulcans summer outdoor waterpark is another small, but good summer spot. Especially if you’re from Calgary. It’s still a bit of a drive, but it’s close enough that it’s well worth the trip.
