Sure, there are only a few more calendar weeks of summer ahead – but as long as the weather continues to cooperate, you’ll need somewhere to soak up the sun and wind down! Not sure where to go? If you haven’t already checked it out, consider Discovery Canyon – a free-to-visit waterpark just outside Red Deer Alberta!

From swimming holes and lakes to pools both indoors and outdoors, Alberta has a ton of amazing places to visit when temperatures rise, but few are quite like Discovery Canyon.

A local favourite, this fun day hotspot will remain open as long as it’s warm enough to take a dip outside and will cost you little to no money to visit.

With a lazy river and tube rentals, wading pools and a beach, guests are in for a day of lounging and fun for only $6 – if they don’t already have a 30-inch, round flotation device.

Hoping to make a full day or weekend of it? Discovery Canyon is actually part of the River Bend Recreational Area which has a golf course, parks, green spaces, and a restaurant – sadly though, you’ll have to leave your furry friends at home as dogs are not allowed in the park.

To book a tee time, check out their website below and start planning your perfect summer day!

It’s going to be a spicy one, Alberta. Enjoy!
