It’s almost that time, Calgary. On November 11th, Canadians from coast to coast will honour the lives and losses of all those who fought for our freedoms with moments of silence and moving ceremonies. From the military museum to a beautiful service at Calgary’s field of crosses, here are 5 Remembrance Day events that you can attend this week.

VIRTUAL SERVICE AT THE HANGAR FLIGHT MUSEUM

Due to the COVID pandemic, this year’s Hangar Remembrance Day ceremony will once again take place online. Tune in here to watch live footage of the moving morning service here, and honour our veterans both of the past and present.

MILITARY MUSEUM

Honouring veterans past and present, this year the Military Museum has put together a respectful ceremony that will pay tribute to Canadian soldiers, some of which who will be in attendance with a performance of The Last Post, a moment of silence, and memorial wreaths. For those who cannot be there in person, this event will also be offered online at the link above.

This Wednesday, pay your respects by visiting the Night Of Lights memorial, or by attending the official daytime ceremony on November 11th. For more information, you can visit the website above.

NATIONAL REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY 

The largest ceremony in Canada, this incredible event encourages all Canadians to stand in collective remembrance of those who have served and fallen in the military. During this service, people all over the country can pay their respects with a performance of the Last Post, prayers, two minutes of silence and more.

CANADIAN PACIFIC REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY

In this online ceremony, Canadians can pay their respects to veterans like so many others will by leading a moment of silence and telling the harrowing stories of those who fought and died for our country.
