A drive-through holiday light display with visits from the Grinch is coming to Alberta

Light the Night will be illuminating an Alberta zoo this month with a drive-through holiday display featuring stunning sparkling attractions, endless photo opportunities, and some all-new activities for this year’s experience.
Innisfail’s Discovery Wildlife Park will be hosting the annual Light the Night event, and it’s starting up this month to kick off the holiday season. Guests will be whisked through fantastical displays, check out the festive treats being offered, and even get a chance to see the Grinch!
If you’re looking for a whimsical holiday experience this November, look no further; Innisfail has got you covered.
What to know before visiting Innisfail’s Light the Night
This outdoor light display will be taking visitors every day starting Friday, Nov. 13, up until Sunday, Jan. 3 (excluding holidays and weather permitting). From 6 to 9 p.m., visitors can hop in their cars and check out the zoo’s display in Innisfail.
For those visiting from Monday to Thursday, according to its website, you’ll be able to drive through the experience as many times as your heart desires (once again, excluding holidays).
While you visit in your vehicle, guests are encouraged to drive slowly (around 5 kilometres per hour), with brief stops allowed to take videos and photos. When driving at the posted speed, the display is estimated to be a 20 to 25 minute experience.
In addition to the drive-through section, this year brings an all-new special walk-through section. Here, folks will be able to take a cozy stroll and get some great photos for the holidays.
The Grinch will be visiting, too, and guests can see him Wednesdays through Sundays from 6 to 8 p.m.
If you happen to get hungry, or want to celebrate the occasion, no worries! There’s also a food concession (with mini donuts and seasonal snacks) as well as the event’s own Christmas store.
How much are tickets?
Tickets will be available at the gate to the event, with no timed entry or capacity limits.
Pricing depends on the capacity of your vehicle, starting at $30 (plus taxes and fees) per vehicle with up to eight people, $50 (plus taxes and fees) per vehicle with nine to 15 people, and $10 (plus taxes and fees) per vehicle with 16 or more people.
Grab some friends, hitch a ride, and get ready to celebrate the season with these stunning light displays. It’ll definitely be worth the ride.
