Here are 8 delicious places to get ice cream in Edmonton this summer

Alright, folks! Summer is heating up, and that means it’s time to check out some of the best spots for ice cream in Edmonton. After all, a scoop of the good stuff is maybe one of the best ways to beat a scorching summer day. So, we’re here to help you find the best places to visit in the city.

Here are 8 great spots for ice cream in Edmonton.

KIND ICE CREAM

Kind only opened in 2019 but it has quickly become a staple for ice cream in Edmonton, and with good reason. While all of their flavours are worth trying, the one at the top of your list should be cookies and sour cream. Weird, we know. But oh so tasty!

Where: 9551 76 Avenue and 6507 112 Avenue

YELO’D

Roughly translating to the Filipino word for ‘iced’, Yelo’d offers rotating soft-serve ice cream flavours that will have you coming back for monthly treats. And while the soft serve is great, we all too often find ourselves diving into a milkshake instead. Here, we’re recommending flavours like Ube and Matcha.

Where: 10150A 82 Avenue

MADE BY MARCUS

Originally from Calgary, Made by Marcus has proven itself as worth the trip, and maybe even the line. Grab a scoop of one of their original flavours, then see if you’re feeling something from the rotating list. What’s more, they’ve set up an outpost at the reopened Wilfred’s!

Where: 10426 82 Avenue NW and 10429 121 Street NW

LA CARRAIA

La Carraia hands down has the best sister store on this list. Seriously, how are you running a successful gelato shop in Florence and decide that the next place to open is Edmonton? We absolutely love it. And if you’re a fan of great gelato, you’ll love it too.

Where: 10067 109 Street NW

SCOOP N ROLL

We could see Scoop n Roll going nationwide based on how popular it is for ice cream in Edmonton. And we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way. Ice cream made right before your eyes that’s also delicious? You can’t beat that experience.

DRIZZLE ICE CREAM

One of the newest spots on this list, Drizzle only opened in the summer of last year, but has already made a name for itself. It was hard for them not to- take an amazing soft serve base, add some premium toppings to go with it, and include some seriously out there creations for the more adventurous among us.

Where: 10322 81 Avenue NW

LITTLE BEAR GELATO

We’re recommending Little Bear Gelato for their delicious ice cream sandwiches and the fact that you can buy ‘family packages’ for a discounted price. Let’s face it- that family pack is going to be consumed by just us over the next little while, and we’re going to love every second of it.

Where: Available online

PINOCCHIO

A sleeper hit since 1980, Pinocchio has all the hallmarks of that brand that becomes a staple in your life. Family-owned? Check. One of the first in the game? Check. Still producing new flavours alongside classics? Check. It’s the ice cream at home trifecta!
