As we mentioned last week, the city’s beloved Hot Chocolate Fest is back this week, and has expanded for the occasion! The Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Fest kicks off on Saturday, and we’ve rounded up some of the most delicious-sounding options on the list. Let’s check them out!
Here are some options we can’t wait to try for Hot Chocolate Fest.
Pocky and hot chocolate? From one of our favourite bakeries in the city? Yeah, this is a no-brainer way to kick off this list. This guy comes with a croissant for extra dipping pleasure alongside it, we can’t think of a better combination.
Where: 2150 Fir Street
Like years past, there’s no shortage of vegan options to try during hot chocolate fest! So, we think you should start at one of the most vegan-y places of them all- Eternal Abundance. Plus, the mixture of shiro miso and soy sauce caramel will have you remembering this flavour for years to come.
Where: 1025 Commercial Drive

Struggling to find a hot chocolate that’s hot enough for you? You’ll definitely want to try the Formula Piccante from Super Veloce. Using an assortment of peppers (but mainly cayenne), this option will have you feeling all sorts of endorphins.
Where: #105 – 1067 West Cordova Street
Located in the Pacific Rim Hotel, giovane caffe is worth a visit for the interior alone. But, that’s made oh so better by their Nocciola Bella option for the Hot Chocolate Fest. It’s a simple hazelnut hot chocolate, but our kryptonite is hazelnut, so it gets the nod.
Where: 1049 West Cordova Street
Oh yeah, one of the biggest macaron names in the world is jumping in for this year! Here, our top pick is the uniquely-named Marie Antoinette. Don’t worry- the name comes from the infusion of their ‘Marie Antoinette’ tea blend and the accompanying macaron.
Where: 1141 Robson Street
This is now the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Fest, after all! The iconic Glenburn Soda Fountain has got 3 options for you to try, but our choice here is this admittedly over-the-top version, which uses a ‘glittery’ chocolate ganache bomb to liven up some hot milk and espresso.
Where: 4090 Hastings Street, Burnaby
And last but not least, we come to BjornBar! At both their OG location in North Van and the new Coquitlam outpost, visitors will be able to try a tiramisu-inspired hot chocolate. Like the hazelnut above, we can literally never say no to any tiramisu- it’s a problem, and we’re working on it.
Where: 4090 Hastings Street, Burnaby and 111-581 Clarke Road, Coquitlam
Well folks, that’s our roundup for the options we can’t wait to try during this year’s Hot Chocolate Fest. Of course, it’s just a small slice of the over 40 participating spots and the 100+ hot chocolates coming to the city. For more info, just click the link below!
