Do you have big dreams of being on the small screen? Well, Alberta, now is your chance because HBO has begun casting extras for their upcoming live adaptation of The Last Of Us, a post-apocalyptic video game that sold over 17 million copies worldwide.

Starring Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones), The Last Of Us follows survivors Joel, a man tasked with escorting a teenage girl from an oppressive quarantine zone through an apocalyptic wasteland to safety. Sounds riveting, no?

According to non-for-profit organization Alberta Keep Rolling, casting will open to anyone in Southern Alberta over the age of 18 and will take place online due to COVID.

In addition to an application (which can be found here), those interested are also required to send two natural, face-on, coloured photos – and no, they cannot be selfies!

Applicants must also be prepared to really commit to the project because they’ll be here for the long haul! Filming is set to kick off in July of this year and run to July of 2022, in which time you can’t spoil anything – which we honestly think will be the toughest part.

Finally – they’re also casting vehicles, between the years 1995 -2003, so if you feel so inclined they’re also asking that you send a photo of the car along with your application.

If you’d like to see the full post, which really breaks down the do’s and don’ts of the process, check it out here. This is HUGE for Alberta, for the film industry, and for us, because admittedly – we’re pretty stoked to get to cover the whole thing! It’s going to be a wild ride, folks. Buckle up and good luck!
