There’s a hair freezing competition in Canada & it’s the largest in the world

Do you have what it takes to sustain below-freezing temperatures all for the sake of freezing your hair? Canada’s largest frozen hair competition is back for the winter season at Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs.

The annual event welcomes all to the Yukon to see who has the best frozen hair creation around.

The Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs Hair Freezing Contest is now accepting entries and the best frozen hair look can win $2,000 cash. And all you have to do is dip your head into the hot springs in -20°C weather. Sounds easier said than done.

Here’s what you do:

  • Dip your head in the hot springs, completely when it’s -20°C outside
  • Let the cold air freeze your hair but make sure to keep your ears warm by periodically dipping them into the water
  • After some time, your hair will transform into a white frosty creation just make sure you style it for those creativity points and once that is done, you must ring the bell near the pool entrance and have one of the staff members take your photo.

The contest ends March 25th, 2023 and winners will be announced on April 5th, 2023. The only way to participate is in person at Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs!

Now that’s a way to enjoy winter to its fullest!
