It’s June, which is almost the official start to summer! We’re very excited about all the great free and cheap things to do in Edmonton this June, for a few reasons. First up, the weather’s nicer (than last month anyway), which makes outdoor options that much better. Secondly, some great festivals and events are coming to the city. And third, did we mention the weather is nicer? Here are the best free and cheap things to do around Edmonton this June.

Downtown Spark
Downtown Spark has returned, and you still have time to check it out! Expect this year’s event to have art installations and musical performances, as well as street parties! The event will be free, and family-friendly!

Fruit Loop: Pride Street Festival
Edmonton’s Pride month kicks off with Fruit Loop, which is bringing incredible 2SLGBTQ+ programming this June in support of Rainbow Refuge! Pride activities will be returning to Old Strathcona in west Ritchie AKA the garage district as organizers host a series of outdoor live performances, drag shows, dancers, photo booths, community booths, workshops, food trucks, beer gardens and late night dance parties to start Pride month off with a bang. Schedule to be announced.

Catch Canada’s top basketball players in action this month until mid-July as they chase the CEBL Championship, and one of the teams playing are our very own Edmonton Stingers.

Edmonton Riverhawks
Baseball is back, Edmonton. Join the Edmonton Riverhawks as they play in the diamond at RE/MAX field this month. Their home opener is on Friday, June 7th, and you can expect “an unbelievable light show presented by Uncle John’s Fireworks to end the night with a splash.”
