We love cheap thrills! Wild Rose Country has some incredible things to see and do – but few experiences will keep you on your toes like the Crypt Lake hike.

This spring, lace up your boots, don’t forget a water bottle, and remember to stretch because this incredible adventure is one for the books.

Once named one of National Geographic’s “19 Thrilling Trails Guaranteed to Make Your Heart Race”, this action-packed workout is well worth the sweat.

In fact, Travel Alberta calls it “one of the best in Canada.”

With four spectacular waterfalls (one of which is 600 feet tall), towering trees and a 60-foot tunnel through a mountain there is nothing quite like it.

Are you a pro who can handle tight spaces and heights?

You’ll need to take a 15-minute boat ride to the trailhead!

Scheduled to run every year in the warmer months (usually June to October) this $32 shuttle is where the fun begins.

Once you arrive on the dock, you’ll begin your challenging 17-kilometre trip to the namesake lake where you can have a picnic, go fishing, or dip your toes.
