It’s June, which is almost the official start to summer! We’re very excited about all the great free and cheap things to do in Edmonton this June, for a few reasons. First up, the weather’s nicer, which makes outdoor options that much better. Secondly, some great festivals and events are coming to the city. And third, did we mention the weather is nicer? Here are the best free and cheap things to do around Edmonton this June.


Africanival is a festival that celebrates the colourful, rich, inviting and diverse cultures of peoples of African descent in Edmonton and beyond.

Downtown Spark is back! Expect this year’s event to be bigger and better, with more things to see including art installations and musical performances, as well as street parties! The event will be free, and family-friendly! Don’t forget the big block party on the 3rd!

The next generation of Edmonton talent is here! Nextfest is a festival made up of hundreds of young and emerging artists from a wide variety of disciplines, and the festival celebrates an electric line up of performances and installations.

18th Annual Mayor’s Pride Brunch

Each year, the Mayor’s Pride Brunch is organized to help raise funds to support 2SLGBTQ+ programs, including Camp fYrefly, the AB GSA Conference, Fyrefly in Schools, Where the Rivers Meet, the Family Resilience Project, and CHEW Project YEG.
