With restaurants and cafes temporarily closing their doors all over Calgary, it’s even nicer than usual to be able to share that a brand new spot with a comforting concept and a heartwarming backstory is set to open this winter! A passion project by a locally famed chef, Pat and Betty Dinette and Bar is coming soon to YYC’s historic Victoria Park and here’s what we know so far!
Described as a Euro-Canadian-inspired eatery, this unique new resto was lovingly named after the women who inspired head chef and Food Network star Mike Pigot and managing partner, James Martin the most while growing up and into adulthood – their moms.

A place to “celebrate simply being together,” Pat and Betty’s serves unapologetically indulgent food, full-body wines and “big-hearted service,” a combination of things that can literally do no wrong if done well.
Luckily, for those of you who can’t wait to find out if their crab and shrimp tagliatelle, “holiday” chicken and chocolate espresso torte are as good as they sound, it seems as though you won’t have to wait too much longer!
Hot off of their soft opening Thursday, December 30th, guests will be able to enjoy Pat and Betty’s full menu in the new year – with reservations now being accepted on their website here.
Happy eating, Calgary!
