Time to venture out on a fall hike! The only thing better than autumn views is autumn views from above. Foley Mountain Conservation Area has just the spot – a viewpoint that offers sights of changing autumn colours lined along a historic waterway.
Let’s get planning!
Foley Mountain Conservation Area is found in the village of Westport, Ontario.
The drive from Toronto is around three and a half hours and is the highest conservation area in the Rideau Valley.
You’ll need a day pass to visit, which you can grab at the park when you arrive for $8.
The viewpoint is the attraction you’re going to want to check out especially this time of year when the leaves are changing.
The lookout is atop the granite ridge in the conservation area, overlooking the historic Upper Rideau waterway and the village of Westport.
To access the mountain lookout, you’ll need to head on a hike along Blue Circle Trail which is the longest trail out of the seven on-site.
If you to do more exploring, there is plenty of space to do so as the area boasts 325 hectares of forest.
Be sure to pack snacks, too! There are picnic tables and facilities for visitors to use so when you need a lunch break, you can do so.
This is the perfect little autumn day trip to take so grab a friend and enjoy Foley Mountain while the colours are still vibrant!
