There's a floating boardwalk in Ontario that winds along a river

Craving that fall main character moment? There’s a floating wooden boardwalk in Ontario that can help you recreate just that. Head to Ontario’s Muskoka region and check out Hunters Bay Trail for a long and leisurely hiking adventure.
Located right in Huntsville, Ontario, this trail is said to be one of the most amazing hikes in the whole area. And that says something.
According to Muskoka Tourism, the Hunters Bay Trail is a walking, running and cycling trail adventure that spans 4.6 km in length.
Where does it start?
Your walking journey begins at the Centre Street bridge near Uponor and heads along the river, under the railway trestle, down the south side of Hunters Bay, through Avery Beach Park and under the Hwy 11 bridge to East Airport Road.
Consider this trail an easy walk. You’ll be mesmerized by its scenic views! Have a bike? You can also embark on a cycling journey along the trail.
Per the Town of Huntsville, several areas along the trail will make you want to stop in awe. But the showstopper is the floating dock sections overlooking Hunters Bay and Orchard Park.
According to Muskoka Tourism, the Hunter’s Bay hiking trail is unlike any other in Muskoka.

“This 3.6km urban trail has a little bit of everything; riverside views, orchards, wooded trails, beaches, and over 500m of floating boardwalk over the waters of Hunter’s Bay,” shares the group.
There’s no doubt that the floating boardwalk is the main attraction of the trail. It’s also part of The Great Trail, aka Trans Canada Trail. It is the world’s longest network of multi-use recreational trails that extends from BC to Newfoundland and north to the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
This trail network connects 24,000 km of trails and 13 provinces and territories. It is described as a “marvel of Canada’s vast landscapes,” according to Discover Muskoka.
There’s so much to see and experience in this beautiful part of Ontario, you’ll love every minute of this season!
