The tropics are coming to the city this summer. Locals will get to experience a tropical floating tiki bar in Toronto starting in August and it’s basically a trip to Hawaii.

The Fleet Admiral of Palapa Tours, Michael Karpishka, confirmed to Curiocity that Toronto will get a taste of the tiki life very soon.

Palapa Tours are a popular summer activity in Ottawa and one vessel will be cruising Toronto’s waters this season.

Karpishka said that a water taxi will transport passengers from the Toronto harbourfront area to the floating tiki bar, which will cruise around the lagoons of the Toronto Islands.

After a 90-minute boozy cruise with tropical vibes, tunes, and incredible views, passengers can get dropped off at the Islands or back to the mainland via water taxi.

Palapa Tours will have both individual ticket and charter options for the Hawaiian-style floating bar.

You can purchase a single ticket if you’re looking to mix and mingle, or you can reserve the entire bar for a special event or group gathering.

All purchases are cashless and it’s BYOF (bring your own food), so be sure to pack some tasty snacks for your adventure.

You can even get married on the floating tiki bar — Palapa Tours will provide the minister!

Remember to dress for the weather and bring appropriate gear, including bug spray and sunscreen.

If you charter your own boat, you will have the option to play DJ with your own music on the Bluetooth speakers.

You can still request a song as an individual passenger for $1, which will be donated directly to a local children’s charity.

The floating tiki bar is equipped with everything you need for a safe and comfortable journey, including a washroom and life vests.

If you can’t wait to hop aboard your boozy tropical getaway, you can book your tickets online at the Toronto Palapa Tours website.

Aloha and bon voyage!
