Full of fascinating history and architecture, this small yet wonderful Ontario town is just a drive away from a popular ski destination. Collingwood is next on our small-town adventure and here’s what to know.

Located about a two-hour drive north of Toronto is Collingwood, Ontario.

According to Destination Ontario, it is nestled along the south shore of Georgian Bay and is home to “a flourishing culinary and craft brew community.”

The town is a great destination for tourism as it is located minutes away from Ontario’s most popular ski and mountain biking resort, Blue Mountain.

Not only does the town offer a rich heritage, bustling local shops, restaurants, boutiques, spas, and more, it is known for its many natural amenities.

According to the Town of Collingwood site, it is home to over 60 km of recreational trails that serve cyclists, walkers, joggers, cross-country skiers, and snowshoers.

“There is a trail leading to every major point of interest in the Town including the George Christie Nature trails, the shoreline of Sunset Point Park, the scenic lookout at Millennium Park, the tranquil gardens of the Arboretum, the Labyrinth, the Museum and Historic Downtown Collingwood,” shares the town site.

“Granular, concrete, asphalt, wooden boardwalks, and natural surface trails join cycling routes to help you get around Town.”

After exploring the almost endless trails, head to downtown Collingwood for some much-needed grub and enjoy the live music.

Per South Georgian Bay, Collingwood is home to a delicious list “of culinary talent and offers a fantastic selection of unique restaurants, bars, craft breweries, coffee houses and specialty food shops that you just won’t find anywhere else.”

And while you’re at it, check out the art murals scattered across the town – totally worth a photo op.

Though it’s a perfect fall escape, winter is almost a magical time in Collingwood and a perfect time to check out Blue Mountain.

But don’t take our word for it, go out and explore the town for yourself. You next adventure awaits.
