Employment in Canada is back to pre-pandemic levels

We know that the pandemic has been hard on a lot of people. With the massive shrink of jobs that happened, it’s awesome to see we’re honestly making some good progress to get back to where we were. We’re even at the lowest unemployment rate we’ve been at since the beginning of the pandemic!

The New Yorker doc released a doc about an Indigenous skateboarder

It’s not often Indigenous people in Canada are given a platform like the New Yorker to tell their story. And this is definitely one worth checking out. The documentary follows Joe Buffalo an Indigenous skateboarder whose love for skateboarding was a tool in his journey with trauma from the residential school system. It’s only 15 minutes, so check it out!

These photos of a couple getting married at the US-Canada Border will make you go “awe”

Who doesn’t love a story about romance and family? Recently, a couple in New York was planning, but the currently closed border meant that the bride’s 96-year old grandmother in Quebec couldn’t attend. So, with the help of some friends, they were able to tie the knot right at the 49th parallel, with everyone in attendance. Now that’s heartwarming.

A Victoria, BC hotel made the list of the best hotels in the world

Luxury in our country! In a recent list put together by Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice for the best hotels in the world, Victoria’s Oak Bay Beach Hotel clocked in at number 19 on the list. Even more impressive is that it is the only Canadian hotel to make the list. So, considering how many great hotels there are in the country, it’s gotta be one to visit.

Neighbourhoods in Vancouver and Montreal have been ranked as among the coolest in the world

Canda has a lot of cool stuff going for it. And, a recent list by Time Out recognized just that. But maybe not as many as WE would. The two neighbourhoods to make the list are Villeray in Montreal and Mount Pleasant in Vancouver. As people who have been to both, it honestly makes a lot of sense. Next time, just add more!
