We love the good news. That’s what it really comes down to. So, we scrounge the internet, looking for good news stories from across Canada every week. And, boy oh boy, we got some bangers for you this weekend. From the heart-warming to the just plain awesome, we got your ration of good vibes for your Friday.
So, here’s are five good news stories from across Canada!
We know that the pandemic has been hard on a lot of people. With the massive shrink of jobs that happened, it’s awesome to see we’re honestly making some good progress to get back to where we were. We’re even at the lowest unemployment rate we’ve been at since the beginning of the pandemic!
It’s not often Indigenous people in Canada are given a platform like the New Yorker to tell their story. And this is definitely one worth checking out. The documentary follows Joe Buffalo an Indigenous skateboarder whose love for skateboarding was a tool in his journey with trauma from the residential school system. It’s only 15 minutes, so check it out!
Who doesn’t love a story about romance and family? Recently, a couple in New York was planning, but the currently closed border meant that the bride’s 96-year old grandmother in Quebec couldn’t attend. So, with the help of some friends, they were able to tie the knot right at the 49th parallel, with everyone in attendance. Now that’s heartwarming.
Luxury in our country! In a recent list put together by Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice for the best hotels in the world, Victoria’s Oak Bay Beach Hotel clocked in at number 19 on the list. Even more impressive is that it is the only Canadian hotel to make the list. So, considering how many great hotels there are in the country, it’s gotta be one to visit.
Canda has a lot of cool stuff going for it. And, a recent list by Time Out recognized just that. But maybe not as many as WE would. The two neighbourhoods to make the list are Villeray in Montreal and Mount Pleasant in Vancouver. As people who have been to both, it honestly makes a lot of sense. Next time, just add more!
Week completed. Good news viewed. Is there a better feeling? We don’t think so. We hope that these good news stories gave you some fuel to vibe your way into the long Thanksgiving weekend. Heck, you deserve some good vibes!
